The Summary of Matches page is divided into a top section and a main section.
The top section indicates the number of hits (i.e.
the number of times the search term or expression occurs in the
database) retrieved by a search and the
number of entries (i.e. the number of documents containing the search
term or expression).
If you have just conducted a Cross Search, the number of hits and number of entries
retrieved will be shown next to the database they're in, either PLD or Acta. You can
switch back and forth between database results by clicking the linked database title.
The main section lists the documents retrieved and links to each document found. Each entry gives brief details of each document as follows:
- Document or division author (in bold)
- Document or division title
- Number of hits
- Bibliographic references if relevant
The author and title details of each document or division are hyperlinked to the Context of Matches page.
The icon appears after each Summary of Matches entry; this takes you directly to the Table of Contents page for the relevant volume, which is expanded to the level of the selected entry in the Summary of Matches.
If you have selected to display the matches retrieved in the form of subsets, you can move back and forth between subsets using the Next and Previous buttons. Using the boxes provided next to these buttons, you can also modify the number of entries you wish to display in the next or previous subset and, in addition, the entry number at which you would like the next or previous subset to start.
Note: Larger files will take a longer time to download - you may be prompted to confirm your selection of text.
